Classic Lit’l Smokies in a crock pot are always a hit at holiday parties or and potlucks. It’s hard to tell whether the kids are eating the miniature smoked sausages or if the adults are slipping these mini treats and taking a walk down memory lane. In either case, Lit’l Smokies please year after year. They are not on anyone’s “Healthy Holiday Foods” list, but sure taste good.
The empty crock pot at the end of the night shows how much they’re liked.
The recipes combine some of the most unlikely ingredients you can imagine for a great taste.
Ingredients
- Lit'l Smokies sausages - 1 pkg (1 lb)
- chili sauce - 1 can (12 oz)
- grape jelly - 1 jar (10 oz, small)
Instructions
- STOVETOP: Heat and stir the chili and grape jelly until it's mixed well and warm. Add the sausages. Let heat for about 30 minutes on low heat. Serve warm.
- CROCK POT: Put everything in and stir. Set to low heat and warm for an hour or two. Stir now and then to make sure all the sausages are evenly coated. Serve right out of the crock pot.
