A Real Southern Treat – Fried Frog Legs

One of my all-time favorites are fried frog legs. My uncle used to go out frog gigging and my Grandma would fry up the legs. I never went gigging, because I would have had to get up at 4 a.m. Way too early! But, I did help my Grandma fry up these treats.

My Mom fried up some frog legs that we bought at Howard’s Bait Shop in Murphy, NC. She just rolled them in flour with some salt and pepper and fried them in our big skillet as you’ll see below. They’re fried just like chicken, so if you have a favorite chicken coating, you can use that on frog legs.
